Government’s National Campaign For One Crore Farmers Starts Today

The Union Agriculture Ministry is going to conduct a one-week-long national campaign at the regional level beginning April 25 until April 30 to highlight farm sector accomplishments since independence and spread awareness about the numerous programs administered by the Centre for the benefit of farmers and the agriculture sector. 

According to an official announcement, the campaign 'Kisan Bhagidari, Prathmikta Hamari' will be organized as part of the government's 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' in collaboration with various ministries and government departments.

A farmers' market and a field display on natural farming will be held at each Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) as part of the campaign, which begins on April 25.

Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar will commemorate a nationwide crop insurance session organized by the Common Service Center (CSC).

The Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihood Mission, in collaboration with the Ministry of Rural Development, will have a discussion on agro-ecological and livestock practices.

The commerce ministry and the Ministry of Food Processing Industries will host a virtual conference on One District One Product (ODOP). There will also be a National Atmanirbhar Bharat Conference with 75 selected farmers and businesses.

ODOP-based workshops, webinars, and awareness programs regarding the departments' numerous schemes will be scheduled during the campaign by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairy.

Over one crore farmers and stakeholders are scheduled to take part in the campaign via direct (offline) and virtual (online) methods throughout the country.

The country is commemorating the 75th anniversary of its independence with a public festival called Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. From March 12, 2021, until August 15, 2023, the festival will take place across the country.
