In support of the new agricultural laws, a forum of farmers' NGOs at Krishi Bhavan handed over letters of support to Union Minister of State for Agriculture, Mr. Kailash Choudhary and Parshottam Rupala.
Minister of State for Agriculture Kailash Choudhary told the farmer leaders that this time the previous records of government procurement on MSP have been broken due to the new law. At a time when the government is setting new procurement records on MSP, the number of procurement centers is increasing; some people are tricking farmers by saying that MSP should be closed.
During this time, Choudhary also urged the farmers' organizations opposing the agricultural laws to recognize the white lie spread by some people motivated by political selfishness and reject it outright.
The government has given MSP one and a half times the cost to the farmers. In the last six years, the government had transferred nearly double the amount on MSP to farmers' accounts. The government will never shut down the MSP and it continues and will continue. Farmer’s welfare is one of the commitments of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
To increase the income of farmers and bring prosperity in their lives, the central government is constantly making decisions under the leadership of the Prime Minister.
Union Minister Kailash Choudhary said, “The farmer is being given six thousand annually from PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. Its purpose is not to take loans in difficult times. The cover of crop insurance compensates them for the crop damaged by natural disaster. The farmer is getting the right information about the health of his land with the Soil Health Card.”
The government is providing ownership rights to every family living in the village through their ownership scheme. She will not let even one inch of farmers land. Both the intention and policy of the government is in the interest of the farmer.
