Heavy Rainfall and Thunderstorms to Continue in These States Till 27 July: IMD

IMD forecasted heavy rainfall for Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, and East Madhya Pradesh on July 24 and 25 and West Madhya Pradesh on July 25 and 26.

Over the next few days, there is predicted to be significant rainfall in several Indian states. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts that Telangana will likely continue to have isolated periods of very severe to extremely heavy rainfall until July 25. After that, the rainfall's intensity will lessen.

On Sunday, there may be a few isolated periods of heavy to very heavy rain in West Madhya Pradesh, Kutch, and Saurashtra. At mean sea level today, the monsoon trough is located south of where it typically is. The following two to three days are likely to see it remain in the same spot.

"Fairly widespread/ widespread rainfall with isolated heavy falls, thunderstorm & lightning very possible across Konkan & Goa on 23 & 24; Gujarat Region on 24 & 25; Saurashtra & Kutch on 25; Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam between 24th-27th; Telangana on 27," the IMD stated in its weather bulletin.

Over the ghat regions of Madhya Maharashtra on July 24 and over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal on July 26 and 27, scattered to moderately widespread rainfall is likely. Till July 25, isolated, exceptionally heavy rainfall is also expected in Telangana.

On July 23 and 24, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand will likely have isolated heavy rains, thunderstorms, and lightning. Jammu and Kashmir will also likely experience these conditions. Predicted rainfall is expected to be very extensive over Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, West Rajasthan, and East Rajasthan between July 24 and July 27.

On July 23 and July 23 and 24, extremely heavy rain is also very likely to occur over West Madhya Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh.

Additionally, the IMD forecasted significant rainfall for Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, and East Madhya Pradesh on July 24 and 25 and West Madhya Pradesh on July 25 and 26.

Over Odisha, Jharkhand, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands on July 24, over West Bengal & Sikkim till July 25, and over Bihar over the next several days, widespread to moderately widespread rainfall is highly possible.

Over the course of the next five days, it is also expected to rain heavily in the northeastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura.
