During this time, a trough to the northeast will bring rain/snow with localised thunderstorms and heavy falls to the region. Rainfall of 100 mm or more is anticipated in several regions of Arunachal Pradesh until early Saturday.

The same trough may also hit East India, bringing light isolated showers, thunderstorms, and lightning to Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Odisha from April 22 to 24.

Another trough stretches from Telangana to South Tamil Nadu, and it is expected to provide mild, scattered rainfall with thunderstorms in areas of South and Central India throughout the next few days.

During this time, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh may see mild to moderate isolated rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds. On April 23, isolated hailstorms are possible in Chhattisgarh.

Temperatures will fall below average due to a cooler air loft above West Bengal, which will spread to the East and Central regions beginning Friday.

Daytime temperatures will reach 40°C or higher in several parts of East and South India today, but only in the south on Saturday. Furthermore, heatwave conditions are possible in Bihar, Odisha, and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal on April 22, as well as Gangetic West Bengal on April 23.

The sky will be partly cloudy during the day, with the maximum temperature expected to be 36 degrees Celsius.  On Thursday, the national capital had light to moderate rain. The air quality index (AQI) in Delhi was moderate (151) around 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, according to SAFAR data.
