The process of certifying farmers who practice natural farming is ongoing in Himachal Pradesh

Natural farming aims to make farming more viable and aspirational by increasing farmers' net incomes as a result of cost savings, reduced risks, comparable yields, and income from intercropping. Natural farming creates jobs through natural farming input enterprises, value addition, local marketing, and so on.

"During the meeting, State Project Director of the project Naresh Thakur stated that under the scheme, more than 83% of the targets set for the year 2022-23 have been completed and the remaining targets will be completed in time within the next three months," an official statement read.

Aside from that, Naresh Thakur stated that the process of certifying farmers who practice natural farming is ongoing, and that the work of registering 19 thousand farmers in the state has been completed.

During the meeting, the project directors from each district shared information about the natural farming activities that were taking place in their respective districts, as well as the action plan.

Preparations for the Central Government's National Natural Farming Mission were also discussed at the meeting. Aside from that, the district project directors were informed about the preparations for the International Nutritious Food Year 2023 as well as the upcoming strategy.

The meeting was attended by Agriculture Director Dr. BR Takkhi, Additional Agriculture Director Dr. Dig Vijay Sharma, Joint Agriculture Director Dr. Raghbir Singh, and officials from the Prakritik Kheti Khushhal Kisan Yojana implementation unit.
