The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare recently unveiled the eagerly awaited second advance estimate for the area and production of horticultural crops for the year 2022-23. The second advance estimate projects a total horticultural production of 351.92 million tonnes, an increase of approximately 4.74 million tonnes (1.37%) compared to the final figures of the preceding year, 2021-22. Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare, Narendra Singh Tomar, hailed this achievement and highlighted the continuous growth in horticultural production in the country.

2. Fruitful Endeavors: Fruit production, a vital component of horticulture, is predicted to reach 108.34 million tonnes in 2022-23, a notable increase from 107.51 million tonnes in the preceding year, 2021-22. This points to a positive trend in fruit cultivation.
3. Vegetable Bounty: The second advance estimate for 2022-23 reports a projected vegetable production of 212.91 million tonnes. This is a substantial growth from the 209.14 million tonnes recorded in the previous year, highlighting the agricultural sector's versatility and adaptability.
