HUL Chairman Sanjiv Mehta to Take Over as President of FICCI

Sanjiv Mehta, Chairman and Managing Director of Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) will be appointed as Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) President.

Sanjiv Mehta, Chairman and Managing Director of Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL), will be appointed as president of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).

The industry chamber said that he will be taking over the position at its Annual General Meeting on December 18.

He will be succeeding media industry veteran Uday Shankar, who is the current President.

Mehta is also the President of Unilever South Asia (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Nepal) and a member of Unilever's Global Executive Board's 'Unilever Leadership Executive.' He is also a Director on the Board of the Indian School of Business, a member of the Breach Candy Hospital Trust, and a member of Harvard Business School's South Asia Advisory Board. He is the chairman of Xynteo's 'Vikaasa,' a coalition of top Indian and multinational corporations.

In his eight years tenure at the helm< HUL’s market capitalization has increased by over $55 billion making it one of the most valuable corporations in the country.

Forbes rated HUL as the most innovative firm in India and the eighth most innovative company in the world.

Mehta has done his Bachelor of Commerce (India), a Chartered Accountancy (India), and has also completed his Advanced Management Program from Harvard Business School.
