ICAR-IARI Announces Walk-In Interviews for Research and Project Associate Positions, Know the Details
The Division of Microbiology at ICAR-IARI is holding a walk-in interview on June 21, 2024, for temporary positions of Research Associate and Project Associate under a DBT-funded project focused on developing efficient biofertilizers.
The Division of Microbiology at the ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) is inviting eligible candidates to a walk-in interview for two temporary positions under a DBT-funded project. The project, titled "Development of engineered Azotobacter with superefficient biofertilizer activity," seeks to fill one Research Associate (RA) position and one Project Associate (PA) position.
The Research Associate position offers a monthly salary of Rs. 58,000 plus 27% HRA. The interview for this role is scheduled for June 21, 2024. Candidates applying for the RA position must hold a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline within Life Sciences. Alternatively, candidates with a Master's degree in the same fields and a Bachelor's degree with at least 60% marks or equivalent can apply if they have three years of relevant research experience and have published a research paper in a Science Citation Index (SCI) or NAAS-rated journal. Experience in recombinant DNA technology is desirable.
The Project Associate position offers a monthly salary of Rs. 31,000 plus 27% HRA. The interview for this role is also on June 21, 2024. Candidates must have a Master’s degree in Plant Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or Life Sciences, or a postgraduate degree in basic sciences like Botany. Eligible candidates should have been selected through national eligibility tests like CSIR-UGC NET or GATE, or through national level examinations conducted by central government departments and agencies such as DST, DBT, and others. Those who do not meet these criteria are eligible for a salary of Rs. 25,000 plus HRA. Like the RA position, experience in recombinant DNA technology is preferred.
Both positions are temporary and will be filled on a contractual basis initially up to March 31, 2025, with the possibility of extension based on satisfactory performance. The maximum age for RA candidates is 40 years for men and 45 years for women, with age relaxations available as per government rules. For the PA position, the age limit is 35 years for men and 40 years for women, again with age relaxations applicable.
Interested candidates should report between 9:30 and 10:30 am on the day of the interview at the Division of Microbiology, IARI, PUSA campus in New Delhi.
