ICAR-IARI Signs MoU with IIT Kanpur to Foster Start-ups and Incubators

In a significant step towards fostering innovation and growth in the agriculture sector, Pusa Krishi, a part of the ICAR- Indian Agricultural Research Institute, and the Start-up Incubation & Innovation Centre (SIIC) at IIT Kanpur have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The historic agreement was sealed today, marking a promising collaboration that is set to have a far-reaching impact on the agricultural landscape.

The MoU was signed through a virtual ceremony, showcasing the modern means of communication that have become increasingly essential in the post-pandemic world. Dr Viswanathan Chinnusamy, Joint Director (Research), IARI, represented Pusa Krishi, while Professor Ankush Sharma from the Department of Electrical Engineering at SIIC IIT Kanpur signed on behalf of the innovation center.

This partnership between Pusa Krishi and SIIC IIT Kanpur is poised to be a game-changer in the field of agriculture. Both organizations have pledged their support to incubators and start-ups, with the aim of nurturing their growth and success. The collaboration aims to create an enabling environment for start-ups, allowing them to flourish and contribute significantly to the agricultural sector.

Pusa Krishi and SIIC IIT Kanpur are committed to exploring and establishing further collaborations to drive advancements and innovations in agriculture. Professor Ankush Sharma, speaking about the partnership, expressed his enthusiasm for the joint efforts. He believes that this collaboration will promote innovative activities in the farming sector, leveraging the expertise and resources of both organizations.

Dr Chinnusamy highlighted the importance of collaborations in research and how they can further assist start-ups and incubators. He expressed his satisfaction with the MoU signing, stating that he was pleased they had signed an MoU with SIIC IIT.

Concluding the virtual ceremony, Dr Akriti Sharma, representative of SIIC IIT Kanpur, emphasized the significance of tech innovators like IIT Kanpur in supporting start-ups to reach new heights and achieve greater profits. She further stressed that this partnership is just the beginning and hinted at more collaborations in the future for the overall development of the agriculture sector.

With the combined resources and expertise of Pusa Krishi and SIIC IIT Kanpur, the future of agriculture in India looks promising, with endless possibilities for growth, innovation, and sustainable development.
