ICAR Signs MoU with Krishi Jagran to Advance Indian Agriculture and Support Farmers' Welfare

ICAR inked a Memorandum of Understanding with Krishi Jagran to promote and disseminate ICAR's initiatives for the advancement of Indian agriculture and the welfare of farmers.

Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and Krishi Jagran, one of the country's leading agricultural media houses, solidified a notable collaboration by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on March 19, 2024 for the advancement of Indian agriculture and the welfare of farmers. The MoU was signed by Dr. U. S Gautam, DDG (Agri. Extn.), ICAR and Founder & Editor-in-Chief, Krishi Jagran M.C. Dominic, marking an important step towards strengthening the agriculture sector.

The DDG highlighted the importance of educating farmers about advanced scientific agricultural technologies to enhance their livelihoods and profitability.

The MoU aims to produce videos showcasing ICAR Success Stories on social media platforms and promote the adoption of ICAR-developed technologies nationwide. Additionally, it will facilitate the creation of video bytes featuring senior officials and writeups in relevant Krishi Jagran magazine editions covering ICAR initiatives.

Among those present at the signing ceremony were Dr. Anil Kumar, ADG TEE, ICAR, Dr. R.R. Burman, Assistant Director-General (Agricultural Extension), ICAR, Shiny Dominic, Managing Director of Krishi Jagran, Mamta Jain, Group Editor of Krishi Jagran, Dr. P.K. Pant, COO, and P.S. Saini, Senior VP - Corporate Communication and PR, Krishi Jagran, along with several other dignitaries from ICAR and Krishi Jagran.

About Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR)

  • The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare, Government of India. Formerly known as the Imperial Council of Agricultural Research, it was established on July 16, 1929, as a registered society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, following the recommendations of the Royal Commission on Agriculture. ICAR's headquarters is located in New Delhi.
