IMD Issues Heavy Rainfall and Hailstorm Alert in These States

There will be no significant change in maximum temperatures over Northwest & Central India today. However, there will be a 2–4-degree Celsius fall in the temperature during the next 24 hours but will rise again thereafter.

Bihar, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal & Odisha will face isolated to scattered rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds during the next two days.

Weather Report: Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said that due to the influence of strong southwesterly winds from the Bay of Bengal to northeastern States at lower tropospheric levels, widespread rainfall is very likely in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam- Meghalaya, Nagaland-Manipur-Tripura, and Sub- Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim with a thunderstorm, lightning, gusty winds during the next 5 days.

Assam and Meghalaya will also receive isolated heavy rainfall from 21st to 25th April and on 22nd April in Arunachal Pradesh. Bihar, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal & Odisha will face isolated to scattered rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds during the next two days.

Rainfall to Occur Due to the influence of a Western Disturbance:

Jammu Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzzafarbad, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand will receive widespread rainfall accompanied by isolated thunderstorms and gusty winds during the next two days.  Meanwhile, Uttarakhand is very likely to receive an isolated hailstorm on 21st-22nd April.

Delhi, Rajasthan, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, and Haryana will also get light rainfall with thunderstorms on the 21st of April.

IMD also predicted dust storms and thunderstorms over Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh on the 21st of April.

Kerala- Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana will receive scattered rainfall with a thunderstorm over the next 5 days due to the influence of cyclonic circulation over the south Tamil Nadu coast.

Weather Forecast for the Next 5 Days:

There will be no significant change in maximum temperatures over Northwest & Central India today. There will be a 2–4-degree Celsius fall in the temperature during the next 24 hours but will rise again thereafter.

Gujarat and Maharashtra will get a slight relief from the severe heat as temperatures drop 2-3 degrees Celsius in the next 24 hours.

Meanwhile, East India will see a fall of 2-4 degrees Celsius during the next two days without any changes thereafter.
