IMD Predicts Heavy Rainfall, Thunderstorm, and Heatwave for Next 5 Days in These Areas

The IMD mapped out the occurrence of heatwaves in different parts of the country. There's a good chance that a heatwave will sweep the country.

Rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds are expected to continue throughout Northeast India, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD)On April 27, 29, and 30, heavy rain will fall in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya. On April 27, a hailstorm is expected in Assam and Meghalaya.

IMD Rainfall Predictions

Lightning is very likely to occur over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, from the 28th to the 30th of April, due to the influence of a fresh Western Disturbance.

On April 28, a hailstorm will hit Jammu & Kashmir. On April 27, a hailstorm is expected over Assam and Meghalaya.

On April 29, light rain with dust storms, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds are expected in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan, according to the IMD.

During the next 5 days, rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (up to 40-50 kmph) are extremely likely to occur over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland-Manipur-Mizoram-Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim.

During the 26-29 April, Rajasthan is anticipated to have strong dust-raising winds (speeds of 25-35 kmph).

During the next 5 days, IMD predicts scattered rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning over Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Rayalaseema.

Heatwave Predictions

The IMD mapped out the occurrence of heatwaves in different parts of the country. There's a good chance that a heatwave will sweep the country.

-In the next 5 days, Vidarbha and interior Odisha

-On the 27th of April, Bihar and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal will face a heatwave.

-April 27-29, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal

-From April 27 to 30, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh will face heatwaves.

-From the 28th to the 30th of April, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Madhya Maharashtra, and Chhattisgarh

-Telangana on April 27 and 28 will face heatwave.
