IMD Weather Forecast: Heavy Rains in Two States till Aug 5; Red Alert

IMD has predicted widespread to very heavy rainfall in two states: Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan till August 5.

IMD has predicted widespread to very heavy rainfall in two states: Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan till August 5. Areas of West Madhya Pradesh and East Rajasthan will continue to get intense rains till August 3. West Madhya Pradesh may receive isolated extremely heavy rains on August 2 with a reduction in intensity by August 3.

Weather in Delhi

Delhi received heavy rains on Sunday morning. Today, too, the city woke up to an overcast sky with light to moderate rains in certain areas early morning.

Rains in Rajasthan

IMD predicts that East Rajasthan will receive widespread to vey heavy rains till August 5. Today, areas of East Rajasthan may get heavy to very heavy rains and also spells of isolated extremely heavy rains with decreased intensity tomorrow.

Forecast of Weather in overall North India

According to IMD, today, the remaining parts of North India, especially Uttarakhand and West Uttar Pradesh, are likely to get fairly widespread to widespread rains.

Haryana will receive isolated heavy rains from August 1 to 5 and Himachal Pradesh will receive similar rainfall activity from August 2 to 4.

Red alert in Madhya Pradesh

IMD has issued red alert in 10 districts of Madhya Pradesh. The state is will receive heavy to extremely heavy rainfall today.

The districts under red alert are Mandsaur, Neemuch, Bhind, Morena, Sheopur, Datia, Ashok Nagar, Guna, Shivpuri, and Gwalior.

The above mentioned districts may get heavy to extremely heavy rainfall, around 115.6 mm to 204.5 mm,  accompanied with thunderstorms and lightning today.

IMD has issued orange alert for other 16 districts of Madhya Pradesh. They are: Agar-Malwa, Vidisha, Sehore, Rajgarh, Raisen, Tikamgarh, Panna, Damoh, Chhatarpur, Sagar, Singrauli, Stna, Sidhi, Rewa, and Bhopal.

Districts namely Jabalpur, Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Ujjain, and Chambal are predicted to receive thundershowers.
