Dr Tarun Shridhar (IAS) Stresses on the Importance of Animal Husbandry, Dairy and Fisheries Sector in India at KJ Chaupal

Dr Tarun Shridhar, the distinguished Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer and former Secretary of Animal Husbandry, Dairying, and Fisheries, on Tuesday, July 18, visited the KJ Chaupal at Krishi Jagran, Delhi. He was invited by the Founder & Editor-in-Chief, Krishi Jagran, MC Dominic and Shiny Dominic, Director, Krishi Jagran.

Welcoming Dr Tarun Shridhar, MC Dominic, Founder & Editor-in-Chief said, “I’m very happy to welcome the entirely different man who has come from a small village in Himachal Pradesh and leading as well as guiding the Indian community. Let’s listen to the man who has influenced millions of people into prosperity and touched the lives of the rural people. I think the way he will influence the young team we have here, no other person can do that.” Further, he said that he is looking forward to attain his insightful knowledge and guidance in the sector. 

While addressing KJ Chaupal, Dr Tarun Shridhar shed light on the immense significance of the animal husbandry, dairying, and fisheries sector in India. His visit aimed to raise awareness about the sector's potential and the various opportunities it offers to strengthen the nation's economy and ensure sustainable agricultural growth.

Also, Dr Shridhar underlined the pivotal role played by the animal husbandry, dairying, and fisheries sectors in India's rural development and livelihood generation. He emphasized that this sector serves as the backbone of the agrarian economy, especially for millions of small and marginal farmers who depend on livestock and fisheries for their subsistence.

In addition to this, he also compared the statistics and the advancements in foreign countries in the animal husbandry, dairying, and fisheries sectors respectively, and how India can enhance in this sector with the implementation of new ideas and innovations.

Furthermore, the former secretary also praised the efforts of the government in promoting this sector, creating job opportunities, and boosting rural income. Dr Shridhar also commended the advancements in technology that have contributed to improved animal healthcare, enhanced milk, and fish production, and increased overall productivity.

In conclusion, Dr Tarun Shridhar's visit to KJ Chaupal served as a valuable platform to advocate the Animal Husbandry, Dairying, and Fisheries sector's immense importance in India.
