Jai Kisan Jai Vigyan: Krishi Jagran Organized Live Session On "Importance of Crop Nutrition & Protection"
Today is the seventh day of “Jai Kisan Jai Vigyan” week, i.e. December 29, 2021. Krishi Jagran has organized a webinar on “Importance of Crop Nutrition & Protection”. This session was moderated by MC Dominic, Founder and Editor in Chief of Krishi Jagran and Agriculture World.
ICAR: Indian Council of Agricultural Research celebrates 'Jai Kisan Jai Vigyan' Week every year from December 23 to December 29, to commemorate the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Late Chaudhary Charan Singh. The event is being conducted in appreciation of their tremendous commitment to encouraging the application of science to help the farmers.
Krishi Jagran: Largest Agri Media Network, has also organized a series of webinar called “Jai Kisan, Jai Vigyan Week” from December 23, 2021, to December 29, 2021. This event included a total of 9 Programs (In which there were Two Physical Events and Six Webinars & One Hybrid Event). Through these webinars, Krishi Jagran has been voicing the struggles & achievements of the farmers.
Today is the seventh day of “Jai Kisan Jai Vigyan” week, i.e. December 29, 2021. Krishi Jagran has organized a live session on “Importance of Crop Nutrition & Protection”. This session was moderated by MC Dominic, Founder, and Editor in Chief of Krishi Jagran and Agriculture World.
The first speaker of this session was Dr. Shailendra Singh, Zydex Industries: Water Soluble Fertilizers, Soil Amendments. He spoke about how heavy mechanization has spoiled the land quality. To overcome this issue they have created a technology called “Zytonic”, it will help in two ways, first is to strengthen & cure the land quality, second is to provide nutrition to the crops.
Then, he gave the example of Punjab & Haryana, how the organic content of these states has reduced between 0.25% to 0.5%. In this situation, the farmer will definitely need a good technology or method to improve his crop nutrition & land quality. Keeping this in mind, to help the farmers they have created Zytonic-M Technology.
The second speaker of the session was Dr. Sanjeev Gupta, Additional Director General, (Oil, Seeds & pulses) Crop science Division, Indian Council Agricultural Research (ICAR). He started his speech with how we can improve our crop production.
He said that before cultivating anything, we should always do soil testing and according to the condition of the land, we should apply the fertilizers, because if it exceeds, then this will definitely spoil the land quality and reduce the crop production, sometimes over-application of the chemical fertilizers can make our health condition worse. He said Nitrogen, Phosphorous, Potash; Sulphur & Zinc are the most important nutrients and the application of these should always be in balance, not too much & not too little.
The third speaker of today’s live session was Dr. Soumitra Das, Director South Asia, International Zinc Association, he spoke about the importance of Zinc, he said that we should always use zinc, to improve not only soil health but, also to ensure food nutrition & health security.
Then the fourth speaker of the session was Ramesh Patel, Executive Director, Meghamani Organics Limited, He said, plants not only requires carbon dioxide & oxygen, but it also requires seventeen other nutrients as well. He also talked about the production of nano urea by IFFCO, and how Gujarat has started using it.
Raju Kapoor, Director Corporate Affairs, FMC Corporation was the fifth speaker of the live session, he began his speech by praising the role of journalists in providing the public with up-to-date information. Then he emphasized three critical points to remember in order to increase crop yield:

Selection of Good Quality Seeds.

Balanced Nutrition to crop (as per soil quality).

Judicious Use of Pesticides.
Next speaker of today’s session was Gahininath Dhawale, Deputy General Manager, Deepak Fertilizers and Petrochemicals Corporation Limited; he shared his wisdom & various advisories for farmers.
