A unique platform has been introduced by the government where one can access and apply for its several credit-linked subsidy schemes.

The JanSamarth portal hosts 12 credit schemes, and the beneficiaries can log in to check their eligibility, apply online and receive approval digitally.

Loans offered

Currently, the JanSamarth portal is offering loans under four broad categories: educational, small business, agricultural infrastructure, and livelihood loans. Under these categories, twelve credit schemes of the government fall.

Registration on the portal

One can register on the portal by providing the mobile number and email id, and then completing the OTP authentication procedure.

Any individual can avail of a loan on the portal if they fulfill the eligibility criteria of the respective credit scheme. The applicant can opt for the category of loan and take an eligibility questionnaire that allows them to determine if they are eligible to apply for the loan under one or more schemes.

Application

After completing the eligibility questionnaire, the portal will display the loan-granting schemes, together with the EMI, loan term, and any applicable subsidies. It also lists all of the banks that are participating in the programme and issuing loans. The applicant can select any of the schemes, and after doing so, the portal will direct them to the website of that specific plan or bank where they can finish their online application. The applicant will receive digital approval for the loan once the online form has been completed, the required papers have been uploaded, and the application has been approved.

Points to be Noted

Information, eligibility criteria, subsidy, and other such information regarding each credit scheme is provided on the portal for the applicant to choose the most suitable scheme.

The status of the loan application can be checked on the portal.
