Job Opportunity: Amazon to Hire over 8,000 New Staff

On September 16, Amazon, the world's largest online retailer, will hold its first-ever Career Day in India. This virtual and interactive event will bring Amazon executives and employees together to discuss what makes Amazon such an exciting place to work. The corporation would also demonstrate its strong commitment to assisting India in realizing its great potential in the twenty-first century.

Amazon has announced that it is hiring for over 8000 direct job positions in 35 cities throughout India, including Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Gurgaon, and Mumbai. Kolkata, Noida, Amritsar, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Coimbatore, Jaipur, Kanpur, Ludhiana, Pune, and Surat are among the other cities. There are positions available incorporate, technology, customer service, and operations.

Apart from India, Amazon is organizing the event for the first time in Japan, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, the United Kingdom, and Canada.

Anil Verma (Director Central Operations, Europe at Amazon) said, “From the past two years, Career Day has been hosted in the US. Looking at the response the event was receiving across different Amazon geographies, we decided that we will scale it up beyond the U.S”.

Amit Agarwal (global senior vice president and country head, Amazon India) said, “We are seeking passionate builders out there to join us in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to digitally transform India”.

Amazon stated that it will continue to support the government's efforts to expand job creation and skill training programmes across the country. The company claims it will assist maximise the country's demographic dividend by riding the country's big youth population.

Amazon's increased recruiting in India comes as the business's CEO, Andy Jassy, has stated that the company plans to add 55,000 individuals for corporate and technical roles internationally in the coming months. As of June 30, this apparently accounted for more than a third of Google's workforce and nearly all of Facebook's.
