Krishi Jagran Hosts 'MFOI Samridh Kisan Utsav' in Agra, Uttar Pradesh to Empower Farmers

On June 10, 2024, Krishi Jagran organized the 'MFOI Samridh Kisan Utsav' at Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Bichpuri, Agra, Uttar Pradesh. This important event, centered on the theme 'Maximizing Farmers' Income for a Prosperous Bharat,' brought together progressive millionaire farmers and industry experts. The gathering was dedicated to enhancing the farming community with the latest agricultural practices and innovations.

With support from JCB and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) as the knowledge partner, the event saw participation from 250 to 300 farmers from diverse backgrounds, highlighting the spirit of community development and knowledge sharing.

The 'MFOI Samridh Kisan Utsav' provided a vital platform for farmers to share ideas, showcase innovations, and form valuable connections. The event began with participant registration and a welcome address by Harsh Kapoor, Marketing Head at Krishi Jagran, setting the tone for insightful discussions and success stories.

Two progressive farmers, Narendra Singh and Lakhan Singh Tyagi, shared their journeys. Singh, a proponent of natural farming, detailed how he enhanced his farm’s productivity, sustainability, and profitability. He emphasized the importance of farmers staying informed about market conditions, understanding customer needs, engaging in food processing, and managing product launches and supply chains. He also advocated for natural farming methods without chemical fertilizers, believing this approach helps farmers become truly progressive.

Tyagi discussed his farming experiences, expressing gratitude towards the event and its organizers. He highlighted the role of women in agriculture, the importance of science in farming, the support from Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) for the farming community, and the benefits of organic farming. Both farmers’ stories, rich with determination and modern advancements, resonated deeply with the audience, reinforcing Krishi Jagran's belief in "Farmers First."

Shambhu Yadav, ASM at Somani Seedz, spoke about radish cultivation practices for optimal yields. Other attendees included Dr. Rajendra Singh Chauhan, KVK Head at Bichpuri, Agra; Shivam Yadav, Territory Manager- Agra at Mahindra & Mahindra Limited; Dr. Sandeep Singh, SMS, Soil Science (Soil Sample Collection & Testing) at KVK, Bichpuri, Agra; Mohit Sharma, JCB, Senior Sales Executive, Agra; Dhavendra Singh, SMS, Animal Husbandry at KVK-Bichpuri, Agra; and Shivam Pratap, SMS, Agriculture Extension, who also shared their insights at the event.

After these presentations, the Krishi Jagran team distributed certificates to 30 progressive farmers, recognizing their achievements and contributions. The event concluded with a vote of thanks and a group photograph, marking a successful day dedicated to empowering the farming community and promoting sustainable agricultural practices.

Notably, farmers at the event learned about new agricultural techniques and exchanged ideas with their peers. They were also introduced to the 'Millennial Farmer of India Awards' by Krishi Jagran, gaining valuable insights into the MFOI program. During the Samridh Kisan Utsav, outstanding and progressive farmers who have made significant contributions to agriculture were honored. Mahindra Tractors showcased their latest models, including the Mahindra 265 DI XP Plus, demonstrating their commitment to supporting the agricultural development of farmers in Agra, Uttar Pradesh.

As momentum builds towards the 'Millionaire Farmer of India Awards 2024,' Krishi Jagran invites widespread participation from all sectors of agriculture. These awards seek to honor farmers across various categories, promoting excellence and innovation in agriculture. An online registration platform for nominees is available, fostering a culture of recognition and appreciation for India's farming community.

Furthermore, the 'MFOI Samridh Kisan Utsav' is gaining traction nationwide, symbolizing a collective step towards a more prosperous and sustainable agricultural sector in India. With initiatives like the 'MFOI, VVIF Kisan Bharat Yatra' on the horizon, Krishi Jagran continues its mission to celebrate and empower the unsung heroes of Indian agriculture, ensuring a brighter future for generations to come.
