Sponsored by Mahindra Tractors and organized by Krishi Jagran, the 'MFOI Samridh Kisan Utsav' held in Mayurbhanj, Odisha, focused on maximizing farmers' income through knowledge exchange, innovation showcases, and the recognition of outstanding farmers.
On June 7, 2024, Krishi Jagran organized the 'MFOI Samridh Kisan Utsav' at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Shamakhunta, Mayurbhanj-1, Odisha. Sponsored by Mahindra Tractors, the event revolved around the theme 'Maximizing Farmers' Income for a Prosperous Bharat.' The Utsav attracted numerous progressive farmers, industry experts, and stakeholders committed to enhancing the agricultural sector with modern practices and innovations.
Building on the success of the 2023 MFOI Award Show, Krishi Jagran introduced two new initiatives: the Samridh Kisan Utsav and the MFOI VVIF Kisan Bharat Yatra. These programs aim to strengthen the farming community by providing platforms for knowledge exchange, innovation display, and networking.
The 'MFOI Samridh Kisan Utsav' featured ICAR as the knowledge partner, emphasizing the importance of scientific and research-based approaches in agriculture. Over 200 farmers from various backgrounds participated, demonstrating a strong community spirit and willingness to learn from each other.
Throughout the day, farmers engaged in sessions about new agricultural techniques and shared their experiences. They also learned about the 'Millennial Farmer of India (MFOI)' Awards initiative by Krishi Jagran, which seeks to recognize outstanding contributions to the field of agriculture. During the Samridh Kisan Utsav, outstanding and progressive farmers who have made significant contributions to agriculture were honored with certificates, recognizing their significant achievements and emphasizing the vital role of innovation and dedication in modern agriculture.
Prominent attendees included Dr. Sanghamitra Patnaik (Senior Scientist and Head), Dr. Jagannath Patra (Scientist, Agricultural Extension), Dr. Jhunilata Bhuyan (Scientist, Home Science), Dr. Govinda Chandra Dhal (Scientist, Agricultural Engineering), Dr. Plabita Ray (Agronomy), Anshuman Debashis Nayak (Farm Manager), Siddharth Sardar (Assistant Manager, OMBADC), Sashank Saxena (Territory Manager, Mahindra Tractors), Anshuman Dash (Mayur Enterprise, Mahindra Dealer), and Shubhra Mahanti (Regional Manager, Krishi Jagran).
The event also provided a stage for Mahindra Tractors to showcase their latest models, including the Mahindra OJA and Mahindra YUVO TECH Plus 585. This demonstration reinforced Mahindra's commitment to supporting the agricultural development of farmers in Mayurbhanj and beyond.
Looking ahead, the 'Millionaire Farmer of India Awards,' set to take place from December 1 to 3, 2024, has already generated significant excitement.
