Krishi Jagran participates in Delhi governments' Mega Plantation Drive

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal launched a mega tree plantation drive across Delhi/ NCR in which school children, NGO’s, general public, Government institutions participated. The participants were made aware of air pollution and the importance of afforestation to counter the menace.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal  launched a mega tree plantation drive across Delhi/ NCR   in which school children, NGO’s, general public, Government institutions participated. The participants were made aware of air pollution and the importance of afforestation to counter the menace.

A statement from the Chief Minister office said that active participation of area residents, resident welfare and market associations, eco-clubs, students of schools as well as colleges was important.

The review meeting was attended by senior officers of the Forest Department, Delhi Pollution Control Committee, District Magistrates, SDMs, senior officers of the three MCDs, Delhi  Development Authority, Public Works Department, and others. 

The government had also set up a toll-free helpline number 1800118600  for the general public to know about the locations fixed for the plantation drive.  It emphasized that agencies involved in plantation drive should not only carry out the drive but also ensure high survival rate of plants for its success.

Krishi Jagran along with 30 members participated in the green march that took place at  Ranjeet Park in Green Park. They planted 20-30 saplings and contributed in the green revolution of Agriculture minister.  Green motive  has always been an important part of the organization which it had fulfilled through the participation.

Section Officer Horticulture Mr. Yogendra Ku and Mr. Ramji Sharma, Supervisor, Horticulture department, NCT Delhi actively helped in planting and making the park more greener.

As a part of the event Mr. M.C. Dominic, Editor –In- Chief, Krishi Jagran along with wife Mrs. Shiny Dominic and son Raja also planted  the saplings  with a promise to be a part of the event every year. Krishi Jagran's main motto  has always been upliftment of  green  India. I also applauded Government of India for its noble step towards making the planet a better place to live in.
