KUHS Signs MoU with German University for Ayurveda Development
The Kerala University of Health Sciences' School of Fundamental Research in Ayurveda signed an MoU with the well-known University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany, to study and evaluate traditional complementary methods scientifically.
Ayurveda teaches a variety of daily routines to ensure complete control and balance of doshas and optimal health. It also prescribes a plethora of methods, medicines, and measures to permanently cure diseases and prevent their recurrence.
It is also intended to incorporate study findings into clinical practise in order to improve public health care. Dr. A.K. Manoj Kumar, Registrar of Kerala University of Health Sciences, and Dr. Sudhikumar K.B., Director of School of Fundamental Research in Ayurveda, and Dr. Syalkumar and Dr. Thomas Ramp, representatives of the University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany, signed the MoU in the presence of KUHS Vice Chancellor Dr. Mohanan Kunnummal and Pro. Vice Chancellor Dr. C.P Vijayan.
The School of Fundamental Research in Ayurveda is also planning to sign Memorandums of Understanding with other prestigious institutions.
Discussions with B.M Kankanawadi Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya, which is part of the KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research in Karnataka, are nearing completion, and the Memorandum of Understanding will be signed soon.
According to sources, discussions are also underway to conduct collaborative research with Vaidyaratnam Ayurveda Research Institute, Thrissur, National Research Institute of Ayurveda, Cheruthuruthi, Unibiosys Biotech Research Labs, Kochi, and Essbrains Pharma Private Limited, Kochi.
The School of Fundamental Research in Ayurveda's activities are divided into four categories: research, documentation, publication, and training. Fundamental research, clinical research, translational research, and drug research are all areas where research is conducted.
