Madhya Pradesh Budget 2023 Focuses on Women, Employment & Youth
The Madhya Pradesh budget was presented prior to this year's scheduled assembly polls in the state.
The budget of Madhya Pradesh for the financial year 2023-24 was presented by state's Finance Minister Jagdish Devda on Wednesday, which totaled over 3.14 lakh crore. State's children, farmers, and women were given priority in the budget.
Jagdish Devda started his speech in the state assembly saying, "This is a Budget of Development."
Under CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the province is progressing. The public will benefit from today's budget, which will help all facets of society. A 'Budget of Progress' is what this is. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, 'Sab ka Saath Sab Ka Vikas', guides the budget, he added.
Check Out Some Major Highlights of the Budget:
1. No new taxes were revealed in this year budget.
2. The chief minister's signature Ladli Behna Yojna received surplus money from the finance minister. In accordance with this programme, women will receive financial aid of Rs 1,000 per month with a few conditions, one of which is that they must not be income tax filers. The government has set aside Rs 8000 crore for this programme. On March 5, Madhya Pradesh will launch the Ladli Behna programme.
3. For the benefit of women, Rs 1 lakh 2976 crore were allotted. Women Self Help Groups will receive Rs. 660 crore and the Ladli Lakshmi Yojana will receive Rs. 929 crores. Kanya Vivah Yojana received a rise in incentive from 51 to 55 thousand. Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana has been given Rs 467 lakhs.
4. For the MNREGA programme, 3,500 crores were allotted.
5. The housing plus programme will be launched by the state administration. Rural regions will receive Rs. 8,000 crores. 383 crore rupees have been set aside for the growth of rural bodies.
6. 25 medical schools will be built for Rs 400 billion.
7. A provision of Rs 14,882 crore, or Rs 1,569 crore more than the previous year, was provided for urban development.
10. Sports funding totals Rs. 738 billion. In Bhopal, an international sports complex will be constructed.
11. For the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, Rs. 1000 crore has been put aside.
12. Plans to promote jobs have received a budget of Rs 252 crore. Jagdish Devda, the finance minister, announced 1 lakh additional government jobs for young people. There is a budget of Rs 252 crore set aside for hiring nomadic groups. A provision allows for the hiring of 200 young people in Japan.
