MEWA India 2025: A Pathbreaking B2B Exhibition for Nuts and Dry Fruits Unveiled by NDFC(I)
MEWA India 2025 will feature over 300 exhibitors from 50+ countries, including key markets like the USA, Chile, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Australia, showcasing innovations in the booming dry fruits sector. With the market expected to reach USD 12 billion by 2029 and a high business conversion rate from the inaugural edition, MEWA aims to further strengthen industry ties and growth.
The Nuts and Dry Fruits Council (India) has announced the 2nd edition of MEWA India 2025, a major three-day trade show set to take place from February 11th to 14th at Jio World Convention Centre, BKC, Mumbai. This event aims to bring together industry leaders, buyers, sellers, and international delegates, offering a platform to highlight the dynamic potential of India's nut industry. MEWA India 2025 promises to be a pivotal event, providing an opportunity for networking and creating an organized framework for the industry.
During a press conference announcing the event, organizers emphasized the significance of addressing the unique challenges posed by India's diverse geography and demographics.
Over 300 exhibitors from more than 50 countries, including the USA, Chile, Iran, Turkey, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and Australia, are expected to showcase their products at the event, which will cover an exhibition space of over 10,000 square meters. This expansive venue will present a wide variety of products from both Indian and international suppliers, offering participants a comprehensive view of the latest offerings.
Yash Gawdi, Co-Chairperson of MEWA 2025, highlighted the impressive growth potential of the dry fruits market, stating that it is projected to reach USD 12 billion by 2029, with an annual growth rate of 18%. He stressed that the event seeks to address industry challenges, enhance global visibility, and foster international collaborations. Additionally, the platform will spotlight emerging trends in health-conscious consumption, which is driving demand for nutritious and convenient snack options.
Gunjan Jain, President of NDFC(I), highlighted the evolving consumer preferences, noting that 91% of Indians are actively seeking healthier snack alternatives. He emphasized the importance of initiatives like MEWA in addressing industry gaps and streamlining operations to meet the rising demand for nutritious products. Jain also pointed out that the healthy snacks market, including nuts and dried fruits, is poised for significant growth due to increasing awareness about healthy eating.
Building on the success of the inaugural MEWA event in 2024, which attracted over 6,000 visitors and featured 130+ exhibitors from 20 countries, the 2025 edition is poised to offer even more trade opportunities and platform for future collaborations. This year’s event will feature engaging panel discussions on market trends, innovations, and industry challenges, along with culinary workshops showcasing creative ways to incorporate nuts and dry fruits into everyday meals.
India's dry fruit export business is also set to continue its growth, with exports currently valued at over $1.5 billion. According to Deepak Agarwal, Secretary of NDFC(I), India's focus on improving production standards and expanding global partnerships is expected to drive a 15% annual growth in exports, reflecting the country's agricultural heritage and commitment to sustainability.
