M.K. Stalin Issues a Total of Rs 300 Crore Compensation for Farmers

The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M. K. Stalin announced a compensation of up to Rs 20,000 a hectare for crops that were cultivated during the kuruvai, kar & sornavari seasons and were ready for the harvest before being completely damaged by heavy rains that recently pounded various parts of the state.

The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M. K. Stalin announced a compensation of up to Rs 20,000 a hectare for crops that were cultivated during the kuruvai, kar & sornavari seasons and were ready for the harvest before being completely damaged by heavy rains that recently pounded various parts of the state.

M.K. Stalin Issues Order to Provide Agriculture Inputs

To aid the farmers, whose samba crops have been damaged, M.K Stalin also issued an order to the officials to provide the agricultural input supply valued at Rs 6,038 a hectare, an official released said. The input supply would include 45 kg of paddy seeds for short duration varieties 25 kg of compost, 60 kg of urea & 125 kg of DAP fertilizer.

M.K Stalin issued an order for sanctioning a sum of Rs 300 crore towards restoring the roads & other civic infrastructure damaged due to rains. Earlier in the day, a team of Ministers led by the Cooperation Minister.

Periasamy which visited the Cauvery delta districts to assess the damage, which was caused by the rains, submitted its reports to Chief Minister.

M.K. Stalin Held Meeting With Team Members

Before making the announcement, M.K. Stalin held detailed discussions with the members of the team. The Agriculture Minister M. R. K. Panneerselvam, Industries Minister Thangam Thennarasu, Law Minister S. Ragupathy, Rural Development Minister K. R. Periakaruppan, Food Minister R. Sakkarapani, School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi & Minister for Youth Welfare Siva V. Meyyanathan.

The Chief Secretary V. Irai Anbu, Commissioner of Revenue Administration K. Phanindra Reddy, Finance Secretary N. Muruganandam, revenue Secretary Kumar Jayant, Agriculture Secretary C. Samayamoorthy, Director of Agriculture A. Annadurai & Director of Disaster Management N. Subbaiyan were present during the meeting, held by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin.
