PM Modi Encourages Farmers To Adopt Organic

Prime Minister Narendra Modi encouraged farmers to adopt organic farming methods over fertilizers and manure in his first encounter with farmers after the repeal of three farm laws.

On Thursday, PM Modi spoke through video conference at the National Conclave on Natural farming which happened in the Anand district of Gujarat.

PM Modi urged farmers to avoid using chemical fertilizers, saying, "We must switch to organic farming methods... Desi cow dung and urine may be used to preserve farm produce while also increasing productivity. Everything is possible through natural means. Then we wouldn't have to pay for manure or any other equipment in this manner."

"Stubble may also be utilized as manure," Prime Minister Modi stated.

PM Modi also stated that the government spends a significant amount of money buying chemical fertilizers and manure. "This affects the income of farmers," he said, adding that farmers have been offered "favorable options" for manufacturing and selling their produce.

"We've to take agriculture out of chemistry labs and link it with nature's laboratory. When I talk about a natural laboratory, it's completely science-based... From seeds to soil, all solutions can be brought in naturally," he said.

While advocating for the adoption of organic agricultural techniques, Prime Minister Modi also stated, "We need to adapt conventional farming methods to modern times."

"We must use technology to revolutionize farming techniques," he stated.

"Natural farming will primarily assist the country's 80% of small-scale farmers. These farmers have less than 2 hectares of land and spend a lot of money on chemical fertilizers... but using organic fertilizers will benefit them," PM Modi said.

PM Modi was addressing farmers during a session of the 'National Conclave on Natural Farming' on Thursday.

The three-day conclave, which began on Thursday in Gujarat's Anand district, focuses on natural farming and educating farmers about its benefits.
