Mondelez India's Sales Increased by 15.65% While Net Profit Falls by 2%

Mondelez's overall revenue increased 15.65 per cent to Rs 9,296.02 crore for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2022. In FY21, it was Rs 8,038.10 crore.

According to financial data acquired by business intelligence platform Tofler, Mondelez India Foods' net profit fell 2.33 per cent to Rs 977.91 crore in FY22, while income from operations/sales increased 15.89 per cent to Rs 9,242.05 crore. Mondelez India Foods Private Ltd reported a net profit of Rs 1,001.34 crore and revenue from operations of Rs 7,974.61 crore for the economic year that ended on March 31, 2021. Mondelex reported a 2.39 per cent decrease in earnings after tax to 977 crores.

Furthermore, the company's costs increased by 17.70 per cent during FY22. The expenditure in FY22 was 7,970 crores, up from 6,771 crores in FY21.

Mondelez stated in February of this year that it anticipates yearly earnings from India to reach $2 billion by 2030. India will play a "phenomenal" part in Mondelez's expansion goals over the next decade, the company's chairman and CEO stated in a virtual speech to the local press.

Mondelez will drive growth in the nation by expanding its market share in the biscuits category, both organically and inorganically. According to the corporation, it will also increase the per capita rate of its chocolates and bakery products, boosting revenue across premium and low unit price segments.

India will contribute 19 per cent of the company's worldwide sales in 2021. Cadbury Dairy Milk, Cadbury 5 Star and Perk account for 72 per cent of the company's Indian market, while powdered drinks such as Tang and Bournvita account for 14% of revenue.

The company's top management stated at the time that it will continue to invest in infrastructure in India and search for acquisition prospects.

Mondelez India also sells malted food drinks under the Bournvita brand, as well as powdered beverages under the Tang brand.

In addition to that, it also sells biscuits under the brands Oreo and Bournvita, and confectionery under the brand Halls and Chocolairs.

Cadbury Dairy Milk, Toblerone, Oreo, Five Star and Perk are some other top brands of the company's goods.
