MoS for Ayush Inaugurates Conference on Homeopathy in Kolkata
The conference in Kolkata is a vital step towards realizing this ambitious vision, promising a healthier and more holistic future for healthcare in the country.
Union Minister of State for Ayush and Women and Child Development, Dr. Mahendrabhai Munjapara, inaugurated a significant conference on Homeopathy in Kolkata, marking a pivotal step towards achieving ‘Sarvajnaya Swasthya,’ a comprehensive vision for healthcare.
The conference was meticulously organized by the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy, in collaboration with the Dr. Anjali Chatterjee Regional Research Institute for Homoeopathy, as an East zone event. Its primary objective was to position homeopathy as the preferred choice for patient treatment, overall wellness, health promotion, and disease prevention—a vision encapsulated by the term ‘Sarvajnaya Swasthya.’
The event coincided with World Homoeopathy Day, which commemorates the birth anniversary of the esteemed Dr. Samuel Hahnemann on April 10th. This year, the celebration extended beyond a single day and location, with events organized in four zones across the nation.
During the inaugural ceremony, Dr. Munjapara lauded the clinical effectiveness of homeopathy and applauded the ongoing research efforts in the field. He emphasized that significant progress is being made in all areas of Ayush (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy).
Dr. Munjapara also highlighted the Ministry of Ayush's commitment to promoting infrastructure development, human resource growth, drug development, and the creation of Ayush resources rooted in research and best practices.
Furthermore, the Minister emphasized the need to present conclusive evidence in favor of homeopathy to the global community, urging the collation of clinical and research-based data. It's noteworthy that West Bengal holds a special place in the history of homeopathy in India, serving as its capital province, from where this holistic healthcare system proliferated to all corners of the nation.
This concerted effort aims to position India as a global leader in homeopathic education, practice, and research, with a steadfast commitment to ensuring that all treatments and approaches are firmly grounded in high-quality, evidence-based standards.
