Bashir Ahmad Wani, Additional District Development Commissioner for Anantnag, officially kicked off a one-day training and exposure visit for the beekeeper farmers of the Shahabad Beekeeper Farmer Producer Organization.

According to the statement, NABARD under the Central Sector FPO Scheme through Biocert International Ltd. promoted the aforementioned FPO.

The FPO Project's capacity-building component organized for farmers to visit FPOs promoted in other districts in the Kashmir region. Chief Agriculture Officer and District Development Manager NABARD were present at the event.

The goal of these programs is to inform farmers about the operation of FPOs in other districts that NABARD has supported.

According to DDM NABARD Rouf Zargar, these visits provide farmers a chance to learn from one another and give them the chance to take away knowledge that they may apply to their own FPOS.

More than 150 beekeeping farmers are members of the Shahabad Bee Keepers FPO, which NABARD approved in the year 2020. Under the FPO Brand name, the FPO has been promoting pure Acacian honey. The FPO has sought for organic certification after receiving an FSSAI license. When dealing with FPO Farmers, ADDC saw how important it was for FPO to operate as a corporate entity and embrace the most advanced and productive beekeeping practices.

Beekeeping Business: Beekeeping is a low cost business idea. You earn money by selling honey and related products. But you don’t have to have thousands of bee hives. In order to start, you can have as few as 50 hives.
