Narendra Singh Tomar Inaugurates Pusa Krishi Vigyan Mela in New Delhi
Thematic exhibitions of key agri technologies will be organized at the event, while stalls of research institutes, startups, and entrepreneurs will also be set up at the event
The Pusa Krishi Vigyan Mela, which is annually hosted in New Delhi and is organized by the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), has been inaugurated by the Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Narendra Singh Tomar today. "Nutrition, Food, and Environmental Protection with Shree Anna" is this year's theme for the event.
The development of a Shree Anna-based value chain under the International Year of Millets, smart farming/protected farming model, climate-friendly and sustainable agriculture, agricultural marketing and exports, farmers' innovations - potential and problems, and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) - Startup linkages will be this year's main draws, according to IARI Director Dr. A.K. Singh.
There will also be themed displays of significant technologies, as well as booths for research organizations, startups, and businessmen.
The Shree Anna-based stalls at the event will provide information on the various varieties of Shree Anna, their farming methods, value additions, and nutritional value. The fair will also feature participation from the Indian Institute of Millets Research, Hyderabad, VPKAS Almora, CAZRI Jodhpur, and S.K.N. Agricultural University, Jobner, all of which are engaged in study on Shree Anna.
Agri-startups, particularly those with a Shree Anna base, will put up their booths. This will encourage young people to start businesses as a means of support.
At the event, there will be live demonstrations of significant wheat, mustard, and gramme varieties as well as vegetables, flowers, and fruits. For the advantage of far-off farmers and customers. There will also be booths from farms, business owners, and input providers. The issues of the farmers will be resolved with the help of counseling booths for farmers.
The institute will further award prizes to motivate farmers. The Innovative Farmers' Conference will help farmers share ideas during this time. Over the course of the 3-day event, thousands of farmers and those associated with the agriculture sector will take part in the fair.
