National Cyber Forensic Lab Inaugurated in Delhi

In order to boost India’s effort in tackling cyber crime, Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh along with Delhi Lt Governor Anil Baijal inaugurated the state-of-the-art National Cyber Forensic lab and Delhi police's Cyber crime unit 'CYPAD' at Dwarka Sector 16 on Monday.

In order to boost India’s effort in tackling cybercrime, Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh along with Delhi Lt Governor Anil Baijal inaugurated the state-of-the-art National Cyber Forensic lab and Delhi police's Cybercrime unit 'CYPAD' at Dwarka Sector 16 on Monday.

The lab will be called as Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) & will have equipment’s to deal with memory forensics, image enhancement, network forensics, malware forensics, crypto-currency forensics, recovery of damaged hard drives and advanced mobile forensics. 

It will be the first cybercrimeawareness and detection centre in India. Rajnath Singh also felicitated 15 school teachers who have done commendable work as 'Cyber Awareness Mitras'. 

According to Delhi Police Commissioner, Amulya Patnaik, this is the first time that a dedicated cyber lab has been created in the country. The new forms of cyber threats need to be upgraded. Teams stationed at Dwarka sector 16 will work in coordination with other law enforcement agencies. Other state's police will have access to the facilities and can get their forensic samples analysed for a quicker probe. The state of art equipment has also been provided to the cops in order to analyse new threats and hacking technologies.
