The decision of the state government to set up an agriculture engineering college in Ara, Bhojpur district, has been met with widespread approval from residents and stakeholders.

The state cabinet, during a meeting on Tuesday, finalized the plan for the college, which will be constructed on a land area of more than 25 acres owned by the agriculture department. The chosen location for the college is the Japani farm area, adjacent to the Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Ara.

The establishment of this agriculture engineering college holds significant importance as it will be the first of its kind in the district. The college's primary focus will be on conducting research and development in agriculture, with a specific emphasis on creating efficient agriculture tools and equipment to support the farming community in central Bihar. By catering to the needs of local farmers, the college aims to expedite agricultural advancements in the region.

One of the key benefits of having this college in the district is the potential for promoting various allied activities. These activities are expected to create numerous employment opportunities for entrepreneurs, farmers, and students, not only within the district but also for the entirety of central Bihar.

Additionally, the presence of the college is likely to inspire the youth to pursue careers in agriculture, opening up more employment prospects for them in the field.

According to Pravin Kumar Dwivedi, the head of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) in Bhojpur, the establishment of the agriculture engineering college will also foster research in high-end technology. One such area of research is focused on ensuring optimal irrigation practices for farmers. Additionally, the college will work on developing suitable agriculture equipment tailored to the needs of farmers with small land holdings, considering the unique agricultural conditions of the state.

The agriculture department, in a statement released on Tuesday, expressed optimism that the college's presence in Ara would lead to significant advancements in agricultural technology. The research conducted at the college is expected to result in state-of-the-art technology that can benefit farmers and improve overall agricultural productivity in the region.

In conclusion, the decision to establish an agriculture engineering college in Ara is seen as a crucial step in boosting agricultural research and development in central Bihar. With a focus on creating advanced agricultural tools, promoting allied activities, and generating employment opportunities, the college is poised to play a pivotal role in the region's agricultural growth and development. Moreover, the prospects of inspiring the youth to pursue careers in agriculture can further contribute to the sector's progress and sustainability.
