PM Kisan Yojana: Government Identifies More Than 26,000 Ineligible Farmers in This State

PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is a central sector scheme in which, the government provides Rs 6,000 to the farmers annually. The money is directly transferred into the bank accounts in three equal installments of Rs 2000 each.

As per the latest reports, more than 26,000 farmers in Maharashtra have been found ineligible under the Centre’s most important scheme for farmers - PM Kisan. A senior official said that an amount of Rs 11 crore transferred into the accounts of these ineligible farmers has to be recovered.

Raigad district tehsildar Sachin Shejal said that "A total of 26,618 farmers have been found ineligible in the district and a cumulative amount of Rs 11 crore has to be recovered from them as soon as possible”. Shejal said it was found that 4,509 farmers pay income tax and Rs 2.20 crore out of Rs 3.81 crore has been recovered from them. Moreover, an amount of Rs 7.65 crore has to be recovered from the remaining 22,109 farmers, of which only Rs 34.54 lakh has been recovered.

It must be noted that PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is a central sector scheme in which, the government provides Rs 6,000 to the farmers annually. The money is directly transferred into the bank accounts in three equal installments of Rs 2000 each.

The last installment was transferred on January 1, 2022 and soon the government will release the 11th installment to crores of farmers. Hence before that the farmers must check the beneficiary status and list to confirm if they will receive the money or not.

How to Check PM Kisan beneficiary status

Follow the steps given below carefully;

  • Visit the official website of PM Kisan

  • Click on the 'Farmers Corner' option and then click on 'Beneficiary Status'.

  • Now you will have to select either Aadhaar number or bank account number. After selecting fill the details

  • Then click on 'Get Data' to get all the details of your transactions or payments.

How to complete eKYC offline

In order to complete eKYC offline, farmers must visit the nearest common service center for biometric authentication. For updating KYC, farmers will have to share their mobile number, their Aadhaar card number, bank account number, and IFSC/ MICR code. They can ask the operator or executive to update the eKYC for PM Kisan account & finish biometric authentication.
