PM Kisan Important Update: Government to Conduct Social Audit of PM Kisan Beneficiaries

The Government will recheck the names of eligible beneficiaries of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana and remove the names of ineligible farmers.

PM Kisan Scheme: Here’s some important news for PM Kisan beneficiaries. The UP government has said that it will conduct a social audit of all the PM Kisan beneficiaries (farmers) next month. The audit will be conducted from 1st May 2022 to 30th June 2022.

A report published by Hindustan says that the audit will be done through Gram Sabha. The Government will recheck the names of eligible beneficiaries of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana and remove the names of ineligible farmers.

According to the report, Devesh Chaturvedi who is the Additional Chief Secretary passed an order in this regard on Thursday (21 April 2022).

The report also said that Gram Sabha will make a list of all the ineligible farmers who have been taking the benefits of the scheme. After that farmers, who have been deprived of the benefits of the government scheme, would be added in their place.

The government will not only remove the names of ineligible farmers but the name of the deceased would also be deleted from the list.

It must be noted that a six-member committee would be formed in every district of the state for the PM Kisan Yojana social audit. The committee will consist of Chief Development Officer, Deputy Agriculture Director, District Agriculture Officers, District Development Officer and SDMs. It will be headed by the DM or District Magistrate.

Who is ineligible for PM Kisan Scheme?

  • Farmers who hold constitutional positions

  • Those who have been serving or retired officers in Centre or State government (except Group D employees)

  • Professionals such as doctors, lawyers, engineers, CAs carrying out their practice

  • Retired or Superannuated pensioners with pensions above Rs 10,000 / month

  • Farmers with false Aadhar card

  • Those who haven’t completed PM Kisan eKYC

  • More than one beneficiary from the same family

  • Those who have filed Income Tax Return in the past Financial Year.

  • Deceased
