Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyaan (PM-KUSUM) Scheme is being implemented by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), and it provides a subsidy for the installation of standalone solar pumps as well as the solarization of agricultural pumps. Farmers can also build grid-connected solar power plants with capacities of up to 2 MW.

The scheme is being implemented by state government designated departments, and the names of all such designated departments can be found on the MNRE website at www.mnre.gov.in.

Following the scheme's launch, the Ministry discovered that some fraudulent websites claimed to be the PM-KUSUM scheme's registration portal.

These unauthorized websites collect money and information from people who are interested in the Scheme. MNRE has previously issued public notices advising the general public not to deposit any registration fee or share any personal information on such websites in order to avoid any loss to the general public.

Following the receipt of complaints, the action was taken against miscreants, and several fake registration portals were blocked.

In addition to fraudulent websites, WhatsApp and other platforms are being used to deceive potential beneficiaries. As a result, the Ministry strongly advises anyone interested in the PM-KUSUM Scheme to double-check the website's authenticity before providing any personal information or depositing money.

The Ministry has also advised against clicking on any unverified or suspicious link received via Whatsapp/ SMS claiming to be a registration portal for the PM-KUSUM scheme.

Information on eligibility for participation in the scheme and the implementation process is available on the MNRE website at http://www.mnre.gov.in or the PM-KUSUM central portal at https://pmkusum.mnre.gov.in, or by calling the toll-free number 1800-180-3333.
