PM Modi Launches Viksit Bharat Yatra in Jharkhand to Achieve Widespread Coverage of Key Government Initiatives

Launches PM Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan on ‘JanJaatiya Gaurav Divas’ with a budget of 24 thousand crores.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 15th installment of over Rs 18,000 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme from Khunti, Jharkhand.

This significant release aims to provide financial support to farmers across the country. The installment was released on the birthday of the ‘father of the land’ Bhagwan Birsa Munda, which is celebrated as the JanJaatiya Gaurav Divas every year.

On the occasion, PM Modi launched the PM Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan, an initiative with a budget of Rs 24,000 crore, aimed at ensuring the holistic development of tribal groups. On the foundation day of Jharkhand, Modi also laid the foundation stone and dedicated to the nation multiple development projects in Jharkhand worth Rs 7200 crores in multiple sectors like rail, road, Education, Coal, Petroleum and Natural Gas.

Upon arrival at the venue, the Prime Minister was warmly welcomed by tribal artists. Thousands of enthusiastic farmers attended the event, and many more participated online. Governor of Jharkhand, C. P. Radhakrishnan, Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren, and Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, Arjun Munda were present on the occasion among others.

Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister talked about his visit to Ulihatu Village and the Freedom Fighter Museum in Ranchi. PM Modi extended greetings to the nation on Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas and paid homage to the revered revolutionary Bhagwan Birsa Munda.

Narendra Modi also conveyed his greetings on the occasion of the Foundation Day of Jharkhand and highlighted the contributions of Former PM, Atal Bihari Vajpayee in its formation. He pointed out that the state of Jharkhand now has 100 per cent electrified rail routes in the state.

Modi emphasized the importance of supporting four pillars for a developed India: women power, agricultural power, youth power, and the power of the poor and middle class.

He highlighted the government's efforts in uplifting millions of people from poverty and improving essential services such as sanitation, LPG connections, and healthcare. The Prime Minister also shared his vision for a future where every poor person would have access to essential services and benefits through government schemes. He mentioned that Atal Ji's government created a separate ministry for tribal communities with its own budget, which has now been increased 6 times.

Under PM JANMAN, the government aims to reach out to primitive tribes, many of whom still live in forests. The Prime Minister pointed out that 75 such tribal communities and primitive tribes, totalling lakhs of people across more than 22 thousand villages, have been identified. He emphasized a shift from just connecting numbers to connecting lives. The central government is investing Rs 24,000 crores in this extensive campaign.

Talking about the 15th instalment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi released today, the Prime Minister shared that over Rs 2,75,000 crores have been sent to farmers' accounts so far.

He also mentioned initiatives like the Kisan Credit Card for cattle farmers and fishermen, a Rs 15,000 crore government spending on free livestock vaccination, financial support for fish farming under Matsya Sampada Yojana, and the creation of 10,000 new Farmer Produce Unions. These measures aim to reduce costs for farmers by making markets more accessible.

PM Modi also highlighted the celebration of 2023 as the International Millet Year and the government's efforts to promote Indian produce like Shri Anna in foreign markets.

Overall, the event marked an important milestone in the government's commitment to supporting farmers and ensuring the holistic development of tribal groups. The release of the 15th PM-KISAN installment and the launch of the PM Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan demonstrate the government's continuous efforts to uplift and empower marginalized communities.
