PM Modi Opens 6th Edition of One Earth One Health - Advantage Healthcare India 2023

To promote the export of medical services from India, the government hosted an international summit on medical value travel. The event was attended by Health Ministers from ten countries, as well as dignitaries from various nations, and a large delegation of 470 foreign business representatives from government entities, private hospitals, and medical facilitators.

PM Modi Opens 6th Edition of One Earth One Health - Advantage Healthcare India 2023

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed the 6th edition of Advantage Healthcare India (AHCI) One Earth One World. The 2-day event beginning today was organized in the national capital at Pragati Maidan.

As the Prime Minister addressed the gathering virtually, he extended a gracious welcome to the Health Ministers from across the world, along with delegates from West Asia, SAARC, ASEAN, and African regions. Drawing from an Indian scripture that promotes the values of happiness, good health, and well-being for all, the Prime Minister highlighted India's longstanding vision of inclusivity in healthcare. He emphasized that this vision had been ingrained in the nation's ethos since ancient times, even predating the current global pandemic.

While highlighting India's leadership role in the G20 agenda, themed 'One Earth, One Family, One Future,' the Prime Minister underscored the importance of robust global healthcare systems in achieving this vision. He emphasized the criticality of medical value travel and health worker mobility in building a healthier world. The Prime Minister further noted that  'One Earth, One Health - Advantage Healthcare India 2023' represents a significant stride towards realizing this goal.

During his address, the Prime Minister highlighted the Ayushman Bharat Scheme as the world's largest government-funded health insurance coverage initiative. He emphasized that the scheme has provided medical treatment coverage to over 500 million Indian citizens, with more than 40 million individuals already availing the services in a cashless and paperless manner. The Prime Minister further noted that this has resulted in significant savings of approximately $7 billion for the citizens.

The two-day event has the objective of highlighting India as the new hub for medical value travel. It aims to showcase India's emergence as a leading destination for world-class healthcare and wellness services, underscore its medical potential, and facilitate opportunities for healthcare collaborations among the participating countries.The 6th edition of Advantage Healthcare India 2023 (One Earth One Health) has been co-branded by the Indian G20 Presidency in collaboration with the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).

The government of India is hosting an international summit on medical value travel with the aim of boosting the export of medical services from the country.
