Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pay a visit to Karnataka today, wherein he will officially launch India Energy Week (IEW) 2023 in Bengaluru. India Energy Week, being held from February 6-8, aims to highlight the country's increasing potential as a force in the energy transition.

Leaders from academia, government, and the traditional and alternative energy sectors will participate in the event to talk about the opportunities and problems that a responsible energy transition brings. More than 30 Ministers from different countries will attend the summit.

There will be more than 30,000 attendees, 1,000 exhibitors, and 500 speakers present to talk about the prospects and challenges facing India's energy future. The Prime Minister will take part in a roundtable discussion with top oil and gas executives during the event. He will also unveil a number of projects related to renewable energy.

Modi will dedicate the HAL helicopter factory in Tumakuru to the country, whose cornerstone was laid by him in 2016. Being the largest helicopter manufacturing plant in Asia, this facility will first produce Light Utility Helicopters (LUH).

The LUH is a locally created, single-engine, 3-ton class multifunctional utility helicopter with a special aptitude for high maneuverability. Future expansion of the plant will allow it to produce other helicopters, including the Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) and Indian Multirole Helicopter (IMRH), as well as perform repairs and overhauls on the LCH, LUH, Civil ALH, and IMRH.

The Prime Minister will also lay the Tumakuru Industrial Township's cornerstone. As part of the Chennai Bengaluru Industrial Corridor, the building of the Industrial Township in Tumakuru, which spans 8484 acres, has been undertaken under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme.
