PM Modi to Unveil Slew of Development Initiatives & Schemes Worth Rs.2095 crore Today

Ahead of the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday is set to launch multiple development initiatives and schemes worth ₹2,095 crore in Varanasi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch numerous development initiatives and schemes worth Rs.2095 crore in Varanasi on Thursday, ahead of the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. 

The Election Commission is expected to announce the schedule of UP assembly election in the first week of January.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is aiming to reclaim power in the state for a second term and has dispatched senior leaders to campaign in the state. 

While the Prime Minister's last visit to Varanasi was on December 13 to inaugurate the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor project, he is expected to inaugurate and lay the groundwork for 22 development projects in his Lok Sabha constituency Varanasi on Thursday. 

According to a press release issued by the Prime Minister's Office, PM Modi will lay the groundwork for the 'Banas Dairy Sankul' in the UP State Industrial Development Authority Food Park in Karkhiyaon, Varanasi. The dairy, which will be built on 30 acres of land, would cost over 475 crores and will be capable of processing 5 lakh litres of milk each day. 

"This would enhance the rural economy and benefit farmers in the region by providing new opportunities. In addition, the Prime Minister would digitally transfer around 35 crore bonus to the bank accounts of more than 1.7 lakh milk producers affiliated with Banas Dairy ".

"The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation for the Milk Producers Cooperative Union Plant at Ramnagar, Varanasi, to generate electricity using biogas.

It will be a significant step towards making Milk Producers Cooperative Union Plant self-sufficient in terms of energy " it added. 

PM Modi will also unveil a portal and logo devoted to the Milk Product Conformity Assessment Scheme, which was designed by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) with the assistance of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB). 

"The unified logo, which includes the logos of both the BIS and NDDB quality marks, will streamline the certification process for the dairy industry and reassure the public about the quality of dairy products," stated PMO. 

"In yet another effort to address land ownership issues at the grassroots level, the Prime Minister will virtually distribute the rural residential rights record 'Gharauni' under the Swamitva scheme of the Union Ministry of Panchayati Raj to over 20 lakh residents of Uttar Pradesh," it added. 

Prime Minister will also lay the foundation for a majority of urban development initiatives in Varanasi. These include six projects of the rehabilitation of Old Kashi wards, a parking and surface park at Beniabag, beautification of two ponds, one sewage treatment plant at village Ramna, and the installation of modern surveillance cameras in 720 areas as part of the Smart City Mission. 

Union Education Ministry's Inter-University Centre for Teachers Education, built at a cost of around 107 crore, and a Teachers Education Centre at the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies, built at a cost of more than 7 crore, are two projects in the education sector that will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister will also inaugurate residential flats and staff quarters at BHU and ITI Karaundi. 

Prime Minister will launch a project worth 130 crore at the Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya Cancer Centre, which includes doctors hostel, Nurses hostel, and a shelter house. PM Modi will lay the groundwork for a 50-bed Integrated Ayush Hospital in Bhadrasi. Under the Ayush Mission, he would also lay the groundwork for a 49 crore Government Homeopathic Medical College in Tehsil Pindra. 

The Prime Minister will lay the groundwork for two '4 to 6 lane' road expansion projects on the Prayagraj and Bhadohi routes.

This will increase Varanasi's connection and take a step toward resolving the city's traffic congestion problem. 

To give a fillip to the tourism potential of the holy city, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate the Phase-1 of Tourism Development project related to Shri Guru Ravidas Ji Temple, Seer Govardhan, Varanasi.
