PM Ujjwala Yojana: Get Rs. 1600 for New LPG Gas Connection

The price of LPG gas cylinder is increasing continuously, at the same time; the government has planned to distribute 1 crore gas connections. The Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, while presenting the general budget, announced about the distribution of 1 crore gas connections under the PM Ujjwala scheme.

The price of LPG gas cylinder is increasing continuously, at the same time; the government has planned to distribute 1 crore gas connections. The Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, while presenting the general budget, announced about the distribution of 1 crore gas connections under the PM Ujjwala scheme. 

Who will Get LPG Gas Connection?

LPG gas connections will be given by the government to BPL card holders i.e. people living below poverty line. The government has distributed 8 crore gas connections under this scheme so far. But this year, in 2021 the government has set a target of distributing 1 crore additional gas connections.

The government provides financial help to the poor people through the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. Under this scheme, an amount of Rs 1600 is given to the applicant to buy LPG gas connection. Not only this, the government also provides installment facility for the expenses incurred in buying the stove and filling the cylinder. 

Application Procedure

During application process, the KYC form is filled, after which it is submitted at the LPG center. The Application form can be directly downloaded from the portal of Ujjwala Yojana, while it can also be taken from the LPG center.

Documents Required

  • BPL Ration Card.

  • Aadhar card.

  • Voter ID.

  • Passport size photo.

  • Copy of Ration Card.

  • Verified letter from Gazetted Officer.

  • LIC policy.

  • Bank Statement.

  • Print of name in BPL list.

Who is Eligible to Apply?

  • Only women can apply.

  • Age should be at least 18 years.

  • The family should be BPL Card Holder.

  • It is mandatory to have an account in any bank.

  • The applicant should be taking a gas connection for the first time.
