Prakritik Krishi Prashikshan Shivir in Sonipat Empowers Over 200 Farmers with Eco-Friendly Techniques

A one-day 'Prakritik Krishi Prashikshan Shivir' was successfully held on December 18, 2024, at Surya Sadhna Sthali, Jhinjhauli, Sonipat, Haryana. The event, conducted under the joint aegis of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Sonipat, and the Surya Foundation, aimed to raise awareness about natural farming techniques, highlight their benefits and promote eco-friendly agricultural practices.

Over 200 Progressive Farmers Participated

The program saw enthusiastic participation from more than 200 progressive farmers from the Sonipat district. Distinguished guests graced the occasion, including M.C. Dominic, Founder & Editor-in-Chief of Krishi Jagran, as the Chief Guest. Special guests included Hemant Sharma, Vice President of Surya Foundation; Dr. Pawan Sharma, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Sonipat; and B.K. Pramod, an Organic Agriculture Expert from Prajapita Brahmakumari Ishwariya Vishwavidyalaya, Sonipat.

Insightful Sessions for Farmers

During the camp, farmers were introduced to various aspects of natural farming. The program featured personal testimonies from 8-10 farmers, who shared their experiences of achieving better production through low-cost organic methods. These stories served as inspiration for others, showcasing the practical benefits of natural farming.

In his motivational address, Chief Guest M.C. Dominic emphasized the importance of empowering farmers to become "millionaire farmers." He stated, "We aim to make farmers prosperous, bringing national and international recognition to their work. Our vision is to create an environment where the son of a farmer can aspire to become a doctor, engineer, or scientist, while the children of professionals feel proud to become farmers. Krishi Jagran is committed to elevating agriculture to this level."

Expert Advice on Farming Techniques

Special guests Hemant Sharma, Dr. Pawan Sharma, and B.K. Pramod shared valuable insights on natural farming practices, the use of organic fertilizers, and sustainable, cost-effective methods. Their advice aimed to empower farmers with knowledge to improve their productivity while safeguarding the environment.

Program Highlights

• 11:00 AM: The event commenced with a warm welcome ceremony for the guests.

• 11:15 AM – 1:00 PM: A campus tour and tree plantation drive were organized. M.C. Dominic planted a tree, symbolizing a step towards environmental conservation.

• 1:30 PM: A detailed discussion session between farmers and experts focused on natural farming techniques.

• 2:30 PM: Lunch was served to all participants.

• 2:45 PM: A Personality Development Camp (TPDC) for teachers was conducted.

The training camp proved to be an enriching experience for the participants. The insights shared by experts motivated farmers to adopt natural farming methods, which promise higher yields at lower costs. M.C.
