Price of LPG Cylinder Increased! Check New Rates Here

The New Year 2023 comes with a big surprise for lakhs of LPG users! The OMCs have modified the rates of gas cylinders.

LPG Price Latest Update: On the very first day of New Year 2023, the Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have increased the rate of 19-kilogram commercial liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders.

As per media reports, the prices of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders were increased by Rs 25 across the nation.

New LPG Cylinder Rates in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai

A 19 kg commercial cylinder will now be available in the market at Rs 1,768 in Delhi, Rs 1,971 in Chennai, Rs 1,721 in Mumbai, and Rs 1,870 in Kolkata.

On the other hand, the prices of domestic cylinders have not been hiked and people will get the LPG cylinders at their existing prices.

Rates of domestic LPG cylinder in Metro cities

Delhi – Rs 1053

Chennai – Rs 1068.5

Mumbai – Rs 1052.5

Kolkata – Rs 1079

Impact of LPG price hike

With this, people will now have to pay more for dining out at restaurants, hotels, etc. across the country especially in metropolitan cities.

Regarding the LPG price hike, the Congress party smashed the Modi government saying that “This is the first gift of the new year 2023... Commercial gas cylinder has become expensive by Rs 25. This is just the beginning… Happy new year."

Oil Marketing Companies generally revise the prices of LPG on the 1st day of every month. Today, on the first date of the New Year, it has changed/updated the prices of commercial LPG. According to this change, the commercial cylinder across different cities has become costlier.

Few weeks back, the Rajasthan government had announced to provide cooking gas cylinders at Rs. 500 for people under the poverty line and registered under the PM Ujjwala yojana.
