Prices Of These Amul Milk Variants Have Been Increased
The prices of milk have been increased in the city of Baroda. Read on to find out about the hike in price.
In Gujarat, the prices of milk have been increased, as The Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) and the Baroda District Co-operative Milk Producers Union Limited (BDCMPUL), also known as Baroda Dairy has raised prices. GCMMF The marketer of AMUL was the first to raise prices and Baroda Dairy followed it.
On March 11, Friday, the Baroda dairy finally confirmed the hike in price as the decision was pending for a while. The decision was taken during a board meeting. The increased milk prices will be in effect from today onwards. Baroda Dairy has decided not to increase the prices of two milk variants for retail consumers;i.e. Amul Shakti and Amul Gold. While the dairy has increased the price of Amul Gold for restaurants, hotels, and catering segments.
In the above-mentioned segments, 5-liter milk will cost Rs.300. Earlier, the price of the same was Rs.290. On the other hand, the price of a 6-liter packet is now Rs.273.
Earlier, it was being sold at Rs.250. The people in Baroda were already buying a 1-liter packet of Amul Gold at the price of Rs.60, which is the same as for the people in Ahmedabad and Saurashtra.
The vice-chairman of Baroda Diary, GB Solanki stated, “we have consciously decided not to increase the price of Amul Gold and Shakti keeping in mind both the interest of consumers and milk producers." He also added that they have not ruled out the possibility of increasing milk prices in the coming future.
Another dairy official argued that the procurement of price, that has to be paid to the farmers is way higher than the hike in the price of the milk, which the consumers are paying.
