QS World University Rankings 2024: JNU India's Top University, 69 Indian Universities Make the List

As per the latest 'QS World University Rankings,' a remarkable 69 Indian universities have secured positions, marking a substantial increase of 19.4% compared to the previous year. This surge reflects India's growing prominence in the global higher education landscape.

India's achievement places it as the second most represented country in Asia, trailing only behind China, which boasts 101 institutions on the prestigious list compiled by QS Quacquarelli Symonds.

The QS World University Rankings by Subject 2024 showed a noteworthy growth in India's ranked entries and overall performance, increasing by 19% and 17%, respectively. This underscores the nation's commitment to academic excellence and continuous improvement.

Of the Indian entries this year, a staggering 72% are either new to the list, have exhibited improvement, or have successfully maintained their positions. Conversely, only 18% experienced a decline, showcasing India's commendable performance across various academic disciplines.

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has secured the 20th position globally under the subject of Development Studies, making it India's highest-ranked university in the field.

Other notable Indian institutions include IIM Ahmedabad, debuting impressively in the 22nd position for Business and Management Studies, and Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences (SIMATS), clinching the 24th spot globally in Dentistry.

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore distinguished itself by securing the top spot in Accounting & Finance, while Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati earned recognition for its excellence in Data Science and Petroleum Engineering.

The QS World University Rankings by Subject serves as a proof to India's academic prowess on the global stage. The inclusion of Indian universities across diverse disciplines underscores the nation's commitment to fostering excellence in education.
