Scholarship for College Students: Apply to Get Your Tuition, Entrance, and Hostel Expenses Covered

The Sasakawa-India Leprosy Foundation (S-ILF) has invited students living in self-settled leprosy colonies to apply for financial assistance to pursue higher professional degrees.

Candidates under the age of 17 who live in a self-established leprosy colony and want to pursue a B.Sc. Nursing (Basic) & GNM degree are eligible. At least one of the applicant's parents or the candidate himself has had leprosy.

• Only Professional Masters, Professional Bachelors, and Professional Diploma courses will be eligible for the funding.

• Only courses given by government-approved universities will be eligible for the award.

• There will be no capitation fee for admittance.

• This academic year, S-ILF will fund up to 27 students.

Applicants are required to meet eligibility criteria to be considered for a scholarship. Only professional courses leading to employment are eligible.

Who Can Apply for the S-ILF Scholarship?

To avail of the benefits of the scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• At least one parent must have had leprosy and lived in a self-sufficient leper colony.

• In any given year, only one member of a household is eligible for the scholarship.

• Only first-year applicants who will commence their studies/courses in the academic year 2022-21 will be considered.

• Applicants who have received scholarships from other organizations or individuals will be disqualified.

• Scholarships are available for admission to professional courses at government-approved universities. Ineligible are students enrolled in non-professional courses.

• Professional course applications will be considered only after completion of Senior Secondary (10 + 2) or Bachelors.

How to Apply for S-ILF Scholarship?

1) Interested students must apply for the MIS portal.

2) Application forms must be completed and uploaded to the official website of S-ILF by June 5, 2022, along with all relevant certified documents.

If the student has already been accepted, documentation of enrollment in a government-approved institution is required.

Candidates might also provide an admission call letter from the institution where they have been accepted. If admission is still desired, the candidate must complete Annexure I.
