Startup20 engagement group organized an Embassy meetup at Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog. The primary objective of this event was to elicit a strong response from the leadership of G20 countries, signifying a significant milestone in shaping the future of startups on a global scale.

Esteemed representatives from Denmark, Austria, Australia, Sweden, the USA, the European Union, Brazil, Oman, Canada, Indonesia, Mexico, and Estonia actively participated in the discussions to formulate policies that will drive growth and success within their respective nations' startup ecosystems.

The meetup was built upon the immense support garnered during the Inception meeting held in January and the Sikkim Sabha in March 2023. It also paved the way for upcoming events, including an eagerly anticipated gathering in Goa on June 3 and 4, 2023, followed by the final summit scheduled in Gurugram on July 4 and 5, 2023.

During the meetup, participants had the opportunity to provide inputs and comments on the first public draft of the Policy Communiqué. This document represents the culmination of policy recommendations generated through an inclusive consultative process. The process involved physical and virtual meetings with over 500 delegates representing various stakeholders from India's startup ecosystem, G20 nations, and invitee nations.

The Startup20-Embassy exclusive meeting brought together representatives responsible for startup-related agendas from different countries. Through their collective wisdom and active engagement, they aimed to discuss recommendations and policy directives, with the ultimate goal of building a robust global startup ecosystem.

Noteworthy discussions at the meetup revolved around how participating countries can effectively engage with stakeholders in their respective nations by sharing the Policy Communiqué document. Additionally, the meetup explored how the leadership of G20 nations in the startup ecosystem can contribute to the finalization of the draft Policy Communiqué. The agreement on a common consensus among G20 countries regarding the draft Policy Communiqué was also sought.

The successful G20 Startup20-Embassy meetup focused on the Policy Communiqué serves as a foundation for further collaboration and progress within the startup ecosystem. Established for the first time under the G20, the Startup20 engagement group aims to establish a benchmark for the structure and evolution of startup ecosystems worldwide.
