TN Farmer’s Daughter Receives Rs 3 Crore US Scholarship For Bachelors Study

Swega Swaminathan, the daughter of a farmer from Kasipalayam village in Erode district, has been awarded a full scholarship of Rs 3 crore to study a bachelor's degree at Chicago University.

Swega Swaminathan, the daughter of a farmer from Kasipalayam village in Erode district, has been awarded a full scholarship of Rs 3 crore to pursue a bachelor's degree in Chicago University, United States of America.

Chicago University is one of the top 10 universities in the world.  

According to a statement from Dexterity Global, Swega was trained and mentored as part of their leadership development and carrier development programme.  

"This is huge," remarked Sharad Vivek Sagar, founder of Dexterity Global, in a tweet. Swega, a 17-year-old Dexterity to College fellow from Erode, Tamil Nadu, and the daughter of a modest farmer, has been accepted on a full scholarship of 3 crores to the University of Chicago, one of the top 10 universities in the world. 

Dexterity Global, according to Sharad Sagar, is a non-profit national organisation that empowers the next generation of leaders through educational opportunities and training.
