Ujjwala Yojana 2.0: Get Free LPG Connection Without Address Proof; Read Details

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Ujjwala Yojana to provide free LPG connections on May 1, 2016. Now the Centre has started its second phase i.e. Ujjwala Yojana 2.0 few days back.

People are curious to know more about Ujjwala Yojana 2.0. Who will get the benefit from this scheme? How to apply for it etc.?

Ujjwala Yojana 2.0 launched in UP

PM Narendra Modi has started the second phase of Ujjwala Yojana from the Mahoba district of Uttar Pradesh. The first phase of the Ujjwala gas scheme was also started from UP’s Ballia district. The Modi government has made the second phase of the Ujjwala scheme much better than the first phase. Under the second phase, the biggest facility has been given that there will be no need to provide a ration card or any other address proof for LPG connection.

Steps to Apply:

• First you have to visit the official website pmuy.gov.in.

• Here you have to click on Apply for New Ujjwala 2.0 Connection at the top.

• Now you will get the option of three different companies (HP, Indane, and Bharat Petroleum).

• Here you click on the option of the company whose gas agency is nearest.

• After this you will be asked for some important information. Submit it after filling it carefully.

• Then after the documents are verified, the LPG connection will be issued in your name.

Apart from this, you can also apply offline to the agency.

Who can take benefit of Ujjwala Yojana:

• Only women can take benefit of the Ujjwala scheme.

• Must be listed under poor family in any category.

• Applicant woman must be at least 18 years of age.

• There should not be any other LPG connection under this scheme in the same household.

Important documents for Ujjwala Yojana 2.0

• It is mandatory to have eKYC for the Ujjwala connection.

• The Aadhar card of the applicant will serve as proof of identity.

• Below poverty line ration card issued by any state government.

• S.No. Aadhaar of the beneficiary and adult family members appearing in the document.

• Bank account number and IFSC code.
