UP Govt Increases ‘Har Khet ko Paani’ Grant to Farmers to Rs 1.75 lakh

The Uttar Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has decided to increase the grant given to farmers under the 'Har Khet ko Paani' scheme from Rs 75,000 to Rs 1.75 lakh for medium deep tube well borings as part of its mission to improve the condition of farmers in the state, particularly marginal and small farmers, officials said on March 20.

The government has made several changes to the previous order regarding medium deep tube wells and deep tube wells to provide water to every field under the Chief Minister Minor Irrigation Scheme (Mukhyamantri Laghu Sinchayi Yojana), as well as increased the grant for deep tube well boring from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 2.65 lakh.

The 'Har Khet Ko Pani' programme is part of the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY). The Yogi Government's reforms are intended to provide help to small and marginal farmers. It is worth noting that the initial grant of Rs 10,000 for the water distribution system has now been increased to Rs 14,000. The fixed fee for individual electrification of tube wells, on the other hand, will remain at Rs 68,000.

Farmers in the general category would also receive Rs 2.57 lakh, up from Rs 1.53 lakh previously, for the installation of tube wells. Furthermore, farmers in the Scheduled Caste-Tribe category would receive a grant of Rs. 3.85 lakhs for the necessary installation of a solar-powered pump with a 5 horse power capacity on their tube wells.

Farmers belonging to the Scheduled Caste will be eligible for a maximum subsidy of Rs 5.74 lakh for tube well borings, up from Rs 4.70 lakh for medium deep tube well borings. The grant amount for electrifying tube wells for general category farmers will stay unchanged at Rs 68,000. The award for general category farmers for tubewells, on the other hand, has been doubled from Rs 1.78 lakh to Rs 3.47 lakh.

Farmers in the Scheduled Caste category will receive a maximum subsidy of Rs 6.64 lakh for deep tube well borings, up from Rs 4.95 lakh previously. Solar pumps will be purchased through UPNEDA and its registered suppliers, as well as the Gem portal.
