UP Polls 2022: Priyanka Gandhi Assures Govt. Jobs, Free LPG Cylinders to Women

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the Congress general secretary, announced on Monday that the party had included more commitments in its separate manifesto for women for the 2022 assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, including 40 percent government jobs for women.

On social media, she shared a list of new commitments that the party has embraced. "Every day of your life is a struggle for you. In a tweet, Priyanka said, "The Congress has developed a women manifesto for you," detailing the commitments the party is making to women in the 2022 assembly elections.

"Women candidates would receive 40% of Congress tickets in the 2022 UP assembly elections. The complete list of promises released on social media included: "three free LPG cylinders every year, free travel in buses, 40 percent government jobs for women in accordance with reservation provisions, 1000 per month ole age or widow pension to women, honorarium of 10,000 per month to 'Anganwadi workers' and 'ASHA bahus,' and 75 proficiency colleges in the name of brave women."

Three "Pratiya Yatras" were launched by the Congress to deliver the party's commitments to people across the state. While the three "yatras" are likely to arrive in the state on Monday, the party plans to start a fourth "yatra" after Deepwali from Gorakhpur.

The Congress faces a difficult challenge in strengthening its support base in Uttar Pradesh, and Priyanka Gandhi is focusing her electoral campaigning on women.

If her party establishes a government in the state, the Congress general secretary declared last month that all class 12 pass girls will be given a smartphone and all graduate girls will be given an electric scooter.

Along with the tweet, Priyanka Gandhi has tagged a photo of the Congress' promises to women if the party wins power in Uttar Pradesh.
