Weather Forecast: Heavy to Very Heavy Rainfall in Gujarat, Maharashtra & Goa Says IMD Report

In today’s weather bulletin, the weather Department of India has predicted of heavy to very heavy over Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra from 20th -21st September (with probable isolated extremely heavy falls over north Konkan on 20th Sept). It also highlighted heavy to very heavy over Gujarat during 20th-22nd September with isolated extremely heavy falls over Saurashtra on 21st and 22nd September.

In today’s weather bulletin, the weather Department of India has predicted of heavy to very heavy over Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra from 20th -21st September (with probable isolated extremely heavy falls over north Konkan on 20th Sept). It also highlighted heavy to very heavy over Gujarat during 20th-22nd September with isolated extremely heavy falls over Saurashtra on 21st and 22nd September. 

As per the report, isolated places over Saurashtra & Kutch, Vidarbha, Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal observed very heavy rainfall along with thunderstorm yesterday.  

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a ‘red alert’ predicting “extremely heavy rainfall” in parts of the city on Thursday. It has issued an “orange alert” on Friday, with a forecast of “heavy to very heavy” rainfall.

On the other hand, Chennai and some parts of Tamil Nadu also witnessed good rainfall on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday. The regional weather department predicted cloudy skies and rains through the day. 

Mumbai has received very heavy rain this monsoon which leads to delayed flights, traffic jams and flooding of homes. The city has been witnessing continuous rainfall since last two days. As reported, areas like Palghar, Thane, and Raigad districts are also likely to receive very heavy rains today.
